Our objectives are to supply services and products that enhance our client's physical appearance and mental relaxation.

This Statement of Purpose is drawn up according to the Care Standards Act 2000 as amended by the Health and Social Care Act 2003 and the Independent Health Care (Wales) Regulations 2011
The owner / manager at SKINFIX Clinic recognises their obligations under these Acts to have in place appropriate safeguards and quality assurance arrangements for all clients in their care.
This document is reviewed annually with any urgent changes undertaken immediately.
No IPL or laser treatments are performed on persons under the age of 18 years. However, if abuse is suspected of any child attending the clinic (e.g., with a parent or guardian etc.) then contact is made as appropriate in accordance with the Child & Vulnerable Adults Protection Policy.
Treatments provided by SKINFIX Clinic are cosmetic, and though the conditions treated may impact on clients' lives in a profound way, the procedures involved have minimal adverse side effects, or potential adverse side effects. Such side effects that may arise are monitored and audited according to our Clinical Audit Policy.

Policies are in place to ensure that the privacy and dignity of clients is respected.
Clients and (if appropriate) their relatives, friends, or representatives are consulted about the planning and delivery of services provided to them, taking into account preferences and requests.
All client consultations are conducted according to a strict protocol.
• This includes a comprehensive medical history being taken.
• A full explanation of the procedure being undertaken.
• Concerns and expectations discussed.
• Possible side effects / contra-indications
• A signed consent form,
• Additionally for ALL IPL treatment it is compulsory to conduct a patch test 7 days prior to treatment taking place.
Arrangements are in place for consultation with clients about the operation of the clinic. Clinical Audit Policy
At SKINFIX Clinic our disabled access policy is as follows.
We can offer only limited disabled access, whilst the building and treatment room have access, the treatments offered would be limited to those unable to maneuver into and out of a wheelchair with ease.
Staff, qualifications, and experience of staff regarding IPL Laser treatments and Core of Knowledge training are reviewed annually and updated as and when required.
A comprehensive Complaints Policy is in place and clients are advised of this policy should they wish to make a complaint.
A summary is provided below:
If you wish to lodge a complaint, the Registered Manager will be informed and will deal with the complaint in accordance with SKINFIX complaints guidelines. If the complaint is made in person, you will be taken into a private area and time given to hear the comment or complaint in full.
If the complainant is not the client, written consent must be provided by the client on whose behalf the complaint is being lodged.
If the complaint is made in writing, the complaint will be recorded as such and the client invited to lodge an official complaint, laying out in detail the circumstances of the complaint. This will allow us to deal with the complaint in a recorded and structured manner.
If you are not satisfied in any way or feel that SKINFIX Clinic have not investigated the matter complained about correctly you can contact the Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and inform them either in writing or by phone.
